As I have said from day one, it has been an honor to serve with the world’s finest diplomatic corps. I want to thank all the employees of @StateDept who have answered the call and executed our mission on behalf of the American people over the past four years.
40 years ago, 52 Americans returned home after being held in captivity for 444 days by Iran. We honor the sacrifice made by our patriotic colleagues and will never forget the hardships they endured. We call on Iran to free all wrongfully detained Americans still in prison.
Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who devoted his life to advancing equality, social justice, and economic opportunity for all, as a lifetime advocate for unalienable rights. His bold vision continues to provide hope and inspiration to the world.
This #MLKDay, we honor Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s historic work in advancing the Civil Rights Movement. I hope all Americans take a moment today to reflect and recommit to the principles of social justice and equality, and honor Dr. King’s legacy through service.
Controlling global telecom networks is a critical part of the CCP effort to manipulate and dominate the future. The @StateDept has led a global campaign to delink CCP proxies such as Huawei and ZTE from critical networks. We’ve turned the tide.
The alliance of democracies facing the CCP threat is growing every day. We worked with allies and partners in the EU and Asia on the transatlantic China dialogue, the Quad, increased joint drills in the South China Sea, and much more.
