This is the end state of modern politics, where all causes and effects have been removed from politics--which is to say where all POLITICS have been removed from politics--and all we are left with is vague concerns about the soul and character of America.
Yes. We're not "divided." We have a two-party system in which one party has dramatically radicalized. That's it, that's the cause of roughly 90% of our political dysfunction.

Cops murder w/impunity. I just watched the video from February 16, 2021. This human was in crisis & was met w/gunfire. I don’t feel safer. I feel terrified. If I am ever in a mental health crisis, call my friends, call my mama, call my neighbor, but don’t you dare call the cops.

1. Who cares what school someone went to? Entire generations of working class kids were encouraged to go into more debt under the guise of elitism. This is wrong.

CROWD: "How's it feel to use threats to make sure the poor stay hungry?"
COP: "This is private property."
CROWD: "Do any of you live in Portland?"
COP: "That's not what this is about."
Hollywood Fred Meyer threw out all their perishables b/c of the power outage. People showed up to salvage whatever they could out of the dumpsters, but Portland Police blocked them from accessing the dumpsters and all the food went bad.
