I don't remember what my first novel was, but I believe my first classic was Treasure Island, followed by White Fang, and then--I think--The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

@GailSimone I think mine was Island of the Blue dolphins! #FirstNovel

Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell when I was 8 years old. It was magical. #FirstNovel

@GailSimone The Hardy Boys: Danger on Vampire Trail. #FirstNovel
@GailSimone The first actual novel I read was something Star Wars or Star Trek related, mostly unmemorable. However, the first novel I read and it stuck with me was Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. There was something about the style it was written in, its humor. #FirstNovel
I started reading novels at an early age (little 50-150 pg type things) and I vaguely remember some of them but the #firstnovel I reeaally remember that made me go “huh....so *this* is reading” was @rickriordan’s The Lightning Thief in 7th grade. Pivotal moment.
